Abstract

The objectives of this environmental scan were to develop a healthy aging approach for gay and lesbian seniors in Canada by (1) documenting the particular challenges to healthy aging experienced by gay and lesbian
seniors; (2) documenting the programs currently in place to address health promotion strategies for this population, both in the gay and lesbian community organizations, and in mainstream seniors’ organizations; and, (3) providing distinct recommendations that can inform the development of programs and policies for the health, community and
voluntary sectors.
